* The Educational System in Egypt * 

 

                Education is any act that has a great effect on the mind, character or physical ability of individuals. Education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another. Education gives us the knowledge of the world around us. Education makes us capable of interpreting rightly the things perceived. Education is not about lessons in textbooks. It is about the lessons of life. Education is important because it equips us with all what we needed to achieve our dreams. Education opens doors of brilliant career opportunities. It wipes out all the wrong beliefs in our minds. Knowledge is light and the darkness is ignorance as our messenger said "seeking knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim". Education builds in every individual confidence to take decisions, to face life and to accept successes and failures. Schools and colleges define the basic framework of education. But education does not end here. It is a lifelong process.

             Educational system is the establishment including the plant and equipment for providing education from kindergarten through high school. The components of an educational system are Ministry of education, teacher, student, curriculum, administrator and family and there should be strong relations between them. Educational system aims to achieve good learning to all people, present a high preparation for wise leadership and personal achievement, and open our mind to new ideas.

                Formal education includes pre-primary education, primary education, preparatory education, secondary education and higher education institutions. The purpose of the education of  pre-primary education in Egypt  is to ensure physical, mental and sensory development of children, to acquire good habits, and to prepare children for primary education.

                 Primary education and preparatory education in Egypt  aim to ensure that every child acquires the basic knowledge, skills, behaviors, and habits to become a good citizen. Also, they help the students to be raised with the national moral concepts and to be prepared for life and for the next education level which are suitable for their interests and skills.

                Secondary education   gives students culture, helps them to identify individual and social problems, to search for solutions, to raise awareness in order to contribute to the socio-economic and cultural development of the country and to prepare the students for higher education, for life and for business in line with their interests and skills.

                Egyptian universities  is a higher education which supports students to raise in line with their interests and skills, to do researches in scientific areas, to arrange for all kinds of publications that show the research and examination results and facilitate advancement of science and technology, to finalize the researches and examinations demanded by the government and to make comments.

                There are many problems in our education in every grade. Some of all that I mentioned before don't happen. Also, using violence means against students as that hurt them physically and psychologically. It can't accommodate the current number of students in the classrooms for the increase in the number of students in kindergarten and the lack of enough funds to cover the required increase. The shortage of kindergarten's teachers to accommodate the increase of students. The reluctance of parents from enrolling their children in kindergartens, particularly in disadvantaged areas .Weak economic situation and the inability to pay for books and educational activities. The  spread of illiteracy among parents, and lack of awareness of the importance of early childhood in character building. The care centers often provide low quality of care and guidance supervisors are not qualified, which will reflect negatively on the child-rearing. Because of the lack of good quality at the level of primary and secondary education, market for private tutoring has spread dramatically. Unemployment is also very high, primarily due to lack of education system in providing necessary training under TVET programs. Also our educational system suffers from poor organization of   administrative and its educational methods are undeveloped.

              Our shortcomings and the disadvantages of our educational system    have led to bad consequences in the preparation of future generations. As our nation's future collapsed scientifically and that has a great impact on all other fields. So we became weak intellectually and physically. That gives a chance for our enemies to control us like toys. Our minds become fragile and full of stupidities as we are just imitating the West only in the negative points like in the style of clothing and singing.

              The Egyptian government and the ministry of education have a great role in educational system as it can dominate and control it. They can make the education to be free as it is a necessity and can not be abandoned. They can expand the construction and preparation of schools education classes. In addition that they able to choose the best individuals to work as supervisors and members of the staff in the school. They can ensure the existence of female social workers with the children to help solving any problems, and establish special training courses for education using modern technology. Teacher is important and makes a difference. A good teacher should know their subject, make the lesson interesting, be a good listener, make their class feel at ease, and remain calm. A great teacher has to be knowledgeable, confident, caring, sharing, fair to all students and well-organized.  The student has to resist proving himself, developing his skills and work towards achieving a bright future. Education administrators set educational goals and establish the policies and procedures required to achieve them. They also supervise managers, support staff, teachers, librarians, and other employees. They develop academic programs, supervise students’ educational progress, train and motivate teachers and other staff, and prepare budgets. They also handle relations with parents, students, employers, and the community. The curriculum must be clear, organized, and suitable for every grade and not depended only on keeping .It has to help in developing the skills of the students, and achieve its educational goal. It also should keep up with the technology, but committed on our traditions and our religion rules at the same time. Families' role towards kids is to give them care, love, respect, lead, instruct and to try to form a safe and pleasant environment at their homes. They have to cooperate with the administration of their sons' school to solve any problems which they suffer from.

                Education is one of the most important things for a society to prosper and be safe. An ideal educational system must try to carry out the following aims.  First, training human personality both mentally and physically. Second, schools must be connected closely with families and society. Finally, a perfect education would consist of learning the basic skills as that is necessary for a healthy and happy life, such as social skills, and some technical skills. Also, a great education can determine where your talents lie. If we want Egypt to be real we will need to tackle all bad roots which cause that stopping from achieving.
